Bob and Brad X6 Pro Massage Gun Review

The Bob and Brad X6 Pro Massage Gun is most advanced massage gun from their line. It’s lighter, faster, and stronger than similarly priced models, but is it the right choice for you? Here’s what we think about the X6 Pro in comparison to other Bob and Brad massage guns.

Massage has the power to relieve stress and tension but it is also a valuable tool for athletes and workout enthusiasts. Using a handheld massage gun prior to a workout helps wake up the muscles and, afterward, may help speed recovery. The value of a massage gun, however, depends on its speed, power, and performance.

About the Bob and Brad X6 Pro Massage Gun

I personally tested three of the Bob and Brad massage gun models listed above, including the X6 Pro. Throughout the process, I evaluated each massage gun individually and tested them side-by-side to determine what makes each model unique.

The Bob and Brand X6 massage gun is a medium-sized handheld massage gun that comes with five standard massage head attachments. It’s fairly lightweight, simple to operate, and delivers speeds up to 3200 RPM.

The X6 Pro massager is pretty standard in terms of appearance. It has an elongated handle attached to a cylindrical massage head – some reviewers describe it as a pill shape. Unlike the Q2 Mini, the X6’s handle is almost ovular instead of rounded but it still has the same rubberized grip. It’s a little larger than the T2 but offers the same five speed settings up to 3200 RPM.

Design and Quality

The Bob and Brad X6 Pro massager is solidly constructed with a rubberized handle and a fan on top of the massage head. The fan vents the motor to keep it from overheating during operation. While the X6 Pro is more of a full-sized model than the T2, it’s not big to the point of being bulky and it still fits in a fairly compact carrying case.

Some reviews of the Bob and Brad X6 Pro massage gun (as well as the T2) comment on the 90-degree handle design. This design tends to strain the wrists during extended massage sessions but it may be less of an issue with the X6 Pro since it’s still fairly lightweight.

The handle on the X6 Pro massage gun is a little different than other models I’ve tried. Not only does it seem a little longer than the average massage gun handle, but it’s flat with rounded sides instead of being completely rounded. While this design may work well for those with larger hands, it felt a little awkward and unwieldy in my small hands.

Though somewhat awkward to handle, the Bob and Brad X6 Pro massager worked smoothly and the controls were easy to operate. This model has a single button that starts the device and allows you to toggle between the five different speed settings. LED lights on the massager head indicate the current speed setting while lights on the handle display the battery life.

Battery and Operation

The Bob and Brad X6 Pro is equipped with a 2500mAh battery that takes about 180 minutes to charge and runs for up to 240 minutes. Unlike the T2 and Q2 Mini, this model has a standard two-prong plug charger.

The X6 Pro is certainly the most powerful of the four massage guns Bob and Brad have to offer, but it doesn’t really compare to the likes of the Theragun. This model has a roughly 10mm amplitude while the Theragun Pro has an amplitude of 16mm. What this means is that the X6 Pro can’t get as deep into the tissues as the Theragun.

I found it was easy to toggle between the five different speed settings and the overall operation was identical to the T2. Like all three of the Bob and Brad models I tried, the X6 Pro was also pretty quiet in comparison to other brands. It also has the same 10-minute automatic shut-off feature as the Q2 Mini to prevent overheating.

What’s Included in the Box?

Like all Bob and Brad massagers, the X6 Pro comes with a zippered carrying case for the massage gun, the massage attachments, and the charger. The case is fairly compact with no wasted space and not significantly larger than the T2 case.

Included with the X6 Pro are the following attachments:

  1. Ball Head
  2. Fork Head
  3. Bullet Head
  4. Metal Flat Head
  5. Air Cushion Head

As is true for other Bob and Brad models, these attachments are easy to install and remove. It’s also worth noting that the attachments for the T2 and the X6 Pro are the same size so you could theoretically use them on either model.

One difference is that the X6 Pro comes with a metal flat head rather than a plastic one. Metal massage attachments tend to glide more smoothly over the skin and they may be more effective for deep tissue treatment than plastic heads.

Pros and Cons

The Bob and Brad X6 Pro is an entry-level massage gun that works well for muscle warm-up and relaxation. It may not be strong enough for more demanding users. However, it’s a good choice for those looking for a more powerful option than the standard vibrational massager.

Before deciding whether the X6 Pro is the right choice for you, consider the pros and cons.

Pros for the X6 Pro

  • Five speed settings up to 3200 RPM
  • Comes with a metal vs plastic flat head attachment
  • Fairly lightweight under 2 pounds
  • Quieter than similarly sized and priced models
  • Comes with a zippered carrying case

Cons for the X6 Pro

  • Handle may be awkward for some to hold
  • Limited amplitude of 10mm
  • Doesn’t have a USB charger

Because every Bob and Brad massage gun has its advantages and disadvantages, there’s no definitive “best” option. It all depends on what you’re looking for and which model best suits your needs. If the X6 Pro is too large or too heavy, consider a smaller Bob and Brad model like the T2 or the Q2 Mini.

Final Verdict on the X6 Pro

The X6 Pro is the most powerful of Bob and Brad’s models, but it still functions more as a vibrational massage device than a percussion massager. The 10mm amplitude limits its performance in terms of how deep you can get into your muscles. This may make it better for muscle wake-up and recovery than intense massage. It does, however, come with a metal flat head attachment which may promote deeper tissue penetration.

Bob and Brad offer four exceptional choices in handheld percussion massagers at a modest price point. If you’re looking for something a little more powerful, however, and you have a slightly higher budget, we recommend checking out the VYBE Pro massage gun.
