Under-the Radar Gem: A Review of the Achedaway Pro Massage Gun

Today we’re going to look at a massage gun that’s flown under the radar, but deserves a bit of the spotlight with our Achedaway Pro review.

This percussion massager was designed to target persistent pain and is known for being one of the quietest yet most powerful guns.

An avid athlete himself, founder Tim Tian made a connection between his active lifestyle and chronic pain and that’s where the idea for Achedaway was born. His goal has been to create a product that is both convenient and truly impactful.

Before you run off to buy an Achedaway Pro, you need to know what makes it great. We’ve done a comprehensive Achedaway Pro Review and have all the details on what it has to offer!

Summary: The Achedaway Pro 16mm amplitude massage gun is a powerful massage tool that uses percussion therapy to reduce muscle pain and soreness. Because of its incredible power and durability, it is well-suited for professional-grade treatment and for athletes.

User reviews also point out how quiet it is and the long-lasting battery. It’s also an affordable massage gun as compared to its competitors.

Design

The Achedaway Pro has a rather retro-inspired shape that has a matte, aluminum upper body and a plastic, ergonomically-angled handle. Achedaway seems to have solved an issue that many other guns have suffered by placing the vent at the back of the gun.

The Achedaway Pro does feel a bit bulkier than similar models and weighs in at 2.6lbs. That’s actually the same as the Hypervolt 2 Pro, and less than the Theragun Pro, which is 2.9lbs. While it’s on par with these other pro models, the extra weight is noticeable when compared to standard massage guns.

That extra weight can help to hold the gun more firmly against the body, allowing better control and potency. This is helpful for a massage therapist and will mean less physical work is required of them. However, it’s not necessarily as ideal for the average self-executed back massage

Performance

The Achedaway Pro has five pressure settings that range from 1700 BPM to 2800 BPM. This is comparable to the Theragun Pro and Hypervolt 2 Pro, but at 2800 BPM, it is the most powerful. The power button also controls the speed settings and is found on the back of the gun.

This deep tissue massage gun has an amplitude of 16mm, which is the highest we’ve seen and matches that of the professional Theragun massager

While it used to claim to be the quietest massage gun, others have caught up, and it can’t really claim the title anymore. However, even at Level-5, you won’t need to yell, just raise your voice. Check out this demonstration by Achedaway fan and CMT Sam Visnic.

Battery Life

The Achedaway Pro comes with a removable 3200 mAh lithium battery. You can opt to buy an additional battery when you buy directly from the Achedaway website. However, it’s currently not available for sale on its own.

A nice little benefit is that the Achedaway Pro comes with a charged battery. Healthline featured the Achedaway Pro and claimed it holds up to five hours of battery life in a single charge. Others have noted three to four hours, so it seems like it might just have the best battery life.

Attachments

Massage guns come with universal attachment heads, but not all are created equal.

Achedaway massage heads are made of heavyweight, quality aluminum alloy that can stand the test of time and heavy use. Achedaway users claim that this offers firmer pressure, again making it perhaps one of the better models for RMTs and athletes.

Unlike the increasingly common foam head that comes with many models, the Achedaway Pro ball attachment was specially designed to mimic the feel of the thumb and is made of a rubber-type material.

Pro-tip: Use temperature for loosening tight muscles or relieving inflamed areas by putting the aluminum attachment head in hot or cold water. Make sure they’re not attached from the gun while you’re dunking of course!

Price & Warranty

Our Achedaway Pro review wouldn’t be complete without a note on cost and warranty. Considering that it’s the professional model and that it’s on par in terms of quality as compared to the big guns (pun intended) like the Theragun Pro and Hypervolt Pro, the Achedaway Pro is actually one of the cheaper massage guns on the market.

On the Achedaway website, the Pro-gun is on sale for $299, down from $469. However, it’s sold on Amazon so it seems that’s the set price. Achedawy offers free worldwide shipping, and the estimated shipping time is typically less than a week.

The AchedawayPro warranty is also pretty great and compares to what Therabody dubs their “industry-leading warranty.” Here’s a comparison:

Achedaway Pro

  • Device & motor: 2 years
  • Lithium-ion batteries: 6 months
  • Attachments: 90 days

Theragun Pro

  • Device & charger: 2 years
  • Lithium-ion batteries: 90 days
  • Attachments: 30 days

The Achedaway warranty terms also seem to be way more straightforward than Therabody’s. This may have to do with the size of the company and brand awareness, but for a comparable product, it’s a pretty significant detail.

Bottom Line

achedaway pro massage gun

Despite not getting the level of attention that the comparable Hyperice and Therabody massagers have, our conclusion is that the Achedaway Pro is a pretty fantastic option, especially for use by certified massage therapists and treatment for professional athletes.

The Achedaway Pro is not the prettiest gun – it’s not ugly, just not as sleek-looking as others. But, who really cares what it looks like? What’s more important is its durability and the power that it packs.

Based on these two key factors, we think it’s very well-suited to professional environments but can also offer a wonderful at-home massage experience for those who are looking for a deeper, more powerful experience than a standard model can offer.
